My electric bike is good for the planet

Electrically assisted bicycles are becoming increasingly popular. It must be said that between the regional or local subsidies to individuals and companies, the electric bicycle revolution in transport is well underway. Accessible to all physical conditions, it makes the last reticence vanish thanks to its positive impact on the planet.

With an EAB no particles

Global warming is a growing concern for the public. Greenhouse gases are now known to all and their harmful effects on the planet and on the health of living beings are no longer in question.

The electric bicycle, EAB, is a perfect solution to reduce these emissions. It runs on little energy and emits no toxic fumes.

My bike battery is environmentally friendly and efficient

The battery is the most important component of my EAB. It allows the bike to function since it supplies the on-board computer and the motor. It also guarantees the duration of use of the electric assistance of the bicycle for the cyclist.

At one time, there were complaints that batteries were not environmentally friendly. The issue raised was very much about manufacturing and recycling. But a well-used bike and a well-maintained battery last 6 to 8 years and sometimes even longer. As for the recycling sector, it is young and the solutions are multiplying, always more efficient.

The positive point in the manufacture of Lithium-Ion batteries, which are the most popular at present, is the absence of lead. When we know the pollution that this component generates in the water table, we can only welcome it.

Both batteries and hydrogen fuel cells are innovating and improving every day.

My carbon footprint has been reduced

"I used to pollute in my solo car or on transport. I wasn't tired when I got to my destination, but I wasn't exercising, my carbon footprint was too high.

Since I've had an EV, I've been able to get back into the swing of things, and I know that my carbon footprint is minimal.

Electricity is produced from various energies. In order to further reduce your environmental footprint when using an EV, it is useful to have an understanding of the energy used to produce the electricity you use.

By favouring eNR (renewable energies) you ensure that you are using decarbonised energy. Green energies include solar energy, wind energy and hydro energy.

However, there is no need to feel guilty if your energy is not entirely green, the amount you need to recharge your electric bike battery is tiny compared to the use you will have of it.

My EAB and I in traffic

In urban traffic and traffic jams, the electrically assisted bicycle is a godsend. Easy to handle and fast, it allows you to get through where a car cannot go, with caution of course. It allows you to get out of a tight spot or to accelerate easily to overtake thanks to the electric assistance.

In terms of pollution, the electric bicycle is a considerable asset. Indeed, what do you find in the city during rush hour? The icing on the cake, no more parking problems.

Another commendable point is that the electric bicycle reduces noise pollution in the city, unlike cars in action.

To sum up, my electric bike in the city makes traffic flow more smoothly, reduces noise pollution and air pollution.

It is understandable why this type of mobility is called soft mobility.

On my bike, quality of life, health, silence and the joy of nature

Riding an electric bike is available to everyone. Whether you are an experienced cyclist or a beginner, you can pedal with the same ease. A strong argument for a smooth return to sport.

When you consider that Belgians are too sedentary, the daily use of an EV for commuting, shopping or taking the children to school is a blessing.

What can we say about the unequalled comfort felt when riding in the countryside? The silence and the electric assistance give us a feeling of well-being to go far and enjoy the landscapes without having to make a long and constant effort. Cycling without fatigue, and seeing the kilometres go by without fatigue, what a joy!

The VAE approved by the government

The EAB, being one of the most virtuous, offers a great alternative to the car or to polluting means of transport.

It is not surprising that the regions and municipalities subsidise it as part of their environmental policy.

If you'd like to do something extra for the planet, opt for a refurbished bike like the ones you'll find at Upway ! You'll find all types of electric bikes, from city bike to MTB including VTC and speedbikeall reconditioned and guaranteed.
