Frequently asked questions
How exactly is the trade-in bonus of up to €500 calculated?
1. You will receive a Upway bonus, Upway will be automatically added to the calculated residual value of your old e-bike (not yet included in the calculation result).
2. If you buy a new e-bike from a participating brand (Lapierre, Batavus, Koga, Sparta) in a store, you’ll receive a promotional discount of up to €400, deducted directly from the invoice. The amount depends on the purchase price of the new bike:
- On purchases of €2,000 or more → €200 off
- On purchases of €3,000 or more → €300 off
- On purchases of €4,000 or more → €400 off
Which older e-bikes can I trade in?
Upway e-bikes from over 300 different brands—regardless of the brand—so your old bike doesn’t have to be one of the brands listed! It just needs to be a functional e-bike (complete, with a working motor and pedal assist, and the battery included). Unfortunately, we cannot accept traditional bikes without motors (“non-electric bikes”).
For which brands of new e-bikes does the additional discount apply?
The exclusive bonus of up to €400, in addition to the €100 trade-in bonus, applies to the purchase of a new e-bike from the following leading brands: Lapierre, Batavus, Koga, and Sparta. The discount applies to all models and model years from these brands.
How does payment work? Will I receive cash?
No, cash payments are not accepted. The process is much simpler and entirely cashless: the trade-in value determined for your old bike (including Upway bonus) and the discount on the new bike new deducted directly from the price of your new e-bike at the time of purchase. So in-store, you only pay the difference.
How long is the offer valid?
The exclusive trade-in campaign runs from July 1 through August 16. Take advantage of this period to get the most value out of your old e-bike.
